Thanks for these words Peter. It’s comforting to read your columns and to be reminded that most of us are good people, people of character and conscience. We don’t make the news the way the circus of a Trump rally does! But we are still here and still running the show, thank God.
How did we allow, and continue to allow, one single little piece of shit poor excuse for a human being to singlehandedly destroy our democracy and all that America has stood for?
He is only ONE man!
Why is half the nation cowtowing to his outrageous demands, believing his lies, buying into his conspiracy theories, jumping through dangerous hoops with his every tantrum, turning a blind eye to the thousands of people dying every day from his ineptitude and lack of caring, and going against all that we purport to believe in?
WTF America?! WTF!
January 20th cannot come soon enough!
We need to STOP this madness, say NO to the evil and hate-spewing cowards amongst our citizenry and in public office who have been spurred on and gained a voice by the current administration.
We must STAND TALL, lead the way, and NOT ABIDE hatefulness, bullshit, lies, egregious behavior, bullying, or slander FROM EITHER SIDE OF THE AISLE.
And we must endeavor to show such actions WILL HAVE CONSEQUENCES -- either through the courts of law, by political censure, or through the ballotbox.
TIME TO TAKE BACK CIVILITY, HONESTY, INTEGRITY, KINDESS, AND LAWFULNESS ....
TIME TO TAKE BACK OUR COUNTRY!!

Peter, Your comments and sentiment bring me hope that the sane group of us can eventually overcome the last four years. I have to admit that I am sticking my head in the sand and trying to ignore it all. And having lived in Capitol Hill for eight years I realize there’s a lot more to it than most people understand. I now know that some of my best friends (similar to some of your relatives) are part of the problem, and that makes me sad. Thanks for your continued posting and expressing hope.
