In my 35 years at ABC Sports I dealt with innumerable announcers from a different angle than most. I dealt with them regarding their expenses and other economic matters. Sometimes the bigger they were in their notoriety the more unreasonable they were. John Madden was as easy to deal with as anyone. Never a complaint. Always a gentleman.
